Troubleshooting

eMCee asks me to link my account

• Open eMCee in the Alexa app and choose Link Account.
• Make sure you are linking from the same Amazon account used by the Alexa device.
• Enter the JRiver Access Key, username, and password for the JRiver installation you want that Alexa account to use.

Playback does not start

• Make sure JRiver Media Center is running.
• Verify Media Network is enabled.
• Confirm the Access Key and Media Network credentials are correct.

How to verify JRiver remote access

1. In JRiver Media Center, open Tools → Options → Media Network.
2. Confirm Media Network is enabled and note the six-character Access Key shown there.
3. Use a device that is not connected to your home Wi-Fi — for example, a phone using cellular data.
4. Open JRiver Panel at jriver.com/panel.html.
5. Enter your JRiver Access Key and choose Connect.
6. If Panel can connect to and browse your JRiver library while you are outside your home network, remote access is working.

CloudPlay fails

• Make sure CloudPlay is activated in JRiver.
• Make sure CloudPlay is also signed in on that computer.
• Try the same CloudPlay seed directly inside JRiver.

Radio JRiver lists stations but will not play one

First confirm the station works directly inside JRiver. If it does, report the exact station name and the command you used.

Play Doctor problems

Confirm Play Doctor works directly in JRiver. If you have a dedicated eMCee Play Doctor zone, it should use the Null Value audio device so the host computer does not play the seed audio.

Reporting a beta issue

When reporting a problem, include:

• The exact command you said.
• What Alexa said or did.
• Whether the same feature works directly in JRiver.
• Your JRiver Media Center version.
• Your Alexa device model.
